For the past 22 years, I’ve worked as a professional wedding and family photographer, capturing life’s biggest milestones. But whether you look at my phone or my professional camera, one thing is clear: my own dogs are always in front of the lens. I’m constantly capturing the goofy antics, the quiet moments, and the perfect head tilts you never want to forget.
The idea for Pupperazzi Studio clicked during a visit to a friend’s home in Houston. On his living room wall was a beautifully framed collage of his dog—not a quick snapshot, but a real piece of artwork that said, this dog matters. It hit me instantly: why doesn’t New Orleans have something like this?
Our city is as dog-friendly as it gets. Dogs are part of our culture—on porches, in parades, and at local coffee shops. They deserve more than getting buried in a camera roll.
Pupperazzi Studio was created to give New Orleans dog lovers a way to celebrate their pets like family, with lasting artwork meant for their walls. I create honest, expressive portraits that capture your dog’s true personality and spirit.

How far in advance should I book?
Honestly, this varies quite a bit depending on the season! I usually need a minimum of 48 hours notice, and we’ll then put our calendars together to find a time that works for us. I still shoot about 60 weddings per year through my wedding studio, so Saturdays in Spring and Fall can be tough, but pretty much everything else is fair game with advanced notice.
What is the photo session like?
We will start by just hanging out, letting your pet sniff me, the camera, LOTS of pets and love. We’ll play, run, sit, stay and have a great time! I try to get a wide variety of shots and angles. Sometimes that means just letting them do their thing, and sometimes we’re giving certain commands, and going for certain angles, but it always works out, and your dog will have a blast. We usually get what we need in an hour or less, unless we have multiple locations.
Where do you like to shoot, if it’s not in studio?
New Orleans is not thin on beautiful backdrops! City Park has so much variance, and so does Audubon. We also love to shoot the back side of the French Quarter (the neighborhood side) because it’s nice and calm, but you still get a different colored wall to work with every 50 feet. As well, I’m always open to any specific spots and ideas you may have in mind.
My pet isn’t the best behaved. Can we make this work?
Well, of course! First and foremost, I’m quite the ninja with pets! After booking, I’ll send you a questionnaire to get an idea of your pet’s general disposition, and I have plenty of noise makers and other tricks to keep their attention. As much info as possible ahead of time sets us up for success and can even dictate the spot we ultimately choose for our session.
Can’t you just send me an online gallery to choose the photos myself?
I’ve found that too many choices can quickly become overwhelming, especially when our aim is to produce meaningful imagery and art for your space. Instead of leaving you to sort through it all alone, I guide you through a personalized ordering session where we help you narrow down your favorite images and choose products that truly fit the style and feel of your home or office. It’s a more intentional, stress-free experience—and it ensures you walk away with pieces you’ll love seeing every day.
I have multiple dogs. Can they all be photographed at the same time?
In theory, yes! Adding even one more dog to an image is challenging, so there will certainly be variance. I do recommend one helper per dog if we’re doing more than one in the same frame. For instance, for 3 dogs, I like to work with each of them individually, and then do the groups at the end, because they’re typically more familiar with the process at that point.
My dog isn’t great off-leash. Is that OK?
Safety is always my number 1 priority! My dogs are great off leash, but not all dogs are cut from the same cloth and accounting for both is part of the job. We can remove the leash and other objects in post production, and it’ll truly look like it was never there to begin with.
How should we prepare before our session?
If you have a super energetic dog, it’s always a good idea to walk or run them for a bit beforehand. If they’re food motivated, keeping their morning meal on the lighter side so they’re not full is always a great way to keep their attention. If you like them groomed a certain way, making sure that our session lines up with that is always a great idea, too. If you’d like to be in the images, wear something you’re complimented a lot in, but something that allows you to move quite freely.
What happens after the session concludes?
The magic does not stop after our session! I will get to work to do a light pass on all images worth seeing, and then we’ll meet either via zoom or in person for your image reveal. Every single art piece that’s purchased will then go through an extensive photoshop edit, leaving no stone left unturned. Once your order is placed, delivery of the products is approximately 14 days. I also prefer to deliver in person, when possible.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Absolutely! If you have anybody in your life who loves their pet and truly treats them like family, this is an absolutely fabulous option for them! Gift certificates never expire.
The photos are everything! How can we thank you?
